Ancient Greeks brought grapes in Italy, around 1000 b.C. and the wine produced in Italy was so good that Greeks themselves started to call Italy ENOTRIA TELLUS which meant  ‘land of wine’. 
 
Like art, literature, music, history, food, wine is part of the culture of Italians. It can’t exists a good meal or banquet with no wine. And passion for wine fill the heart of a lot of Italians. There are oenological schools (schools for wine producers) all around Italy, starting from 1876, when it was opened the first one, in Conegliano. A city famous for the production of Prosecco, where there is the highest density of people who work with wine of the world.
 
Italy it’s a country with sea, mountain chains, hills, lakes, rivers, flat lands. This boot shaped peninsula has a lot of different climates and soils. And a lot of different kind of grapes. For example in French are produced wine from 15 kind of grapes, in Spain from 20 kind of grapes, in Italy from more than 300! 

Could sound a challange to understand this jungle of different kind of wines, but let's discover it together, it will be a charming and amazing trip!
